Scanning Documents from smartphone
Download Microsoft Office Lens from the App Store or Play store

When you open Office Lens, it looks like a camera screen but you have the option to choose what type of scan you want to do:

-
Photo This is a good mode to use if you’re taking pictures of scenery or people.
-
Document This mode will help you get the most out of small words and details on a page. It’s great for things like posters, fliers, or restaurant menus. Can then save it as a PDF, Word or PPT document.
-
Whiteboard Use this mode to capture notes. Office Lens will adjust images so the background isn’t too bright and the words are easier to read. It’s an ideal setting for blackboards and sketches, too.
-
Business Card This mode will help you extract contact information and save it into your contacts and into OneNote.
You will notice there is an orange guide that will show you what you are capturing, this allows you to capture the entire document or just parts of it.

Once you capture the image you will have the ability to adjust borders if needed, click Confirm

The next screen will allow you to edit or add text to the image then save it

You will then have the option to name your document (by default it’s a long non-sensical number) and then save as different types of documents and even upload it directly to your One Drive

Once saved you can see your scans in the My Files section and share or see where it’s saved. If you save to OneDrive you can now access it from your computer/sharepoint account.
